Two prominent corporate law firms in the Baltics have merged in the latest structural change for the regions' legal market.

Derling in Estonia and Primus in Latvia and Lithuania have established a new pan-Baltic alliance.

The regional branches of the firm will operate as Derling Primus in Estonia, and Primus Derling in both Latvia and Lithuania. The merged firm has offices in the Baltic cities of Riga, Tallinn, Tartu and Vilnius.

The developments follow significant changes for both firms over the course of the previous year. The Estonian office of Primus split from the regional Primus alliance to merge with Ellex during January 2018. Meanwhile, in September 2018, the Latvian and Lithuanian offices of the former Derling alliance, Kronbergs Čukste Derling and Dominas Derling, quit the triad to begin the Levin alliance alongside Estonian firm, Glikman Alvin.

This move is another notable devleopment for the regions' legal market which has seen significant consolodation in the past five years.
