Latham & Watkins has hired a new financial services regulatory partner in London.
Carl Fernandes joins the firm from Linklaters. He advises banks, broker-dealers, asset managers and private banks on financial services regulatory issues including licensing requirements, market conduct requirements and restrictions and appropriate risk management systems and controls.
Before returning to London, Fernandes (who is qualified in Hong Kong and Western Australia as well as England and Wales) headed up the Asian Financial Regulation Group at the firm.
At Latham he joins a team including Rob Moulton, Nicola Higgs and David Berman (all ranked by the IFLR1000), all of whom have joined the US firm in the past two years.
