Global firm Dentons has announced plans to combine with Lima-based Gallo Barrios Pickmann.
Dentons has been rapidly expanding into Latin America. In early May, the firm proposed a strategic alliance with Brazil’s Vella Pugliese Buosi Guidoni.
Earlier this year, the firm entered Central America (Costa Rica, Panama and Guatemala) through the launch of Dentons Muñoz. In 2016, the firm combined with Colombia's Cardenas & Cardenas, and Mexico’s López Velarde to form Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas and Dentons López Velarde.
Other global and international firms have also seen opportunities in Peru recently. CMS incorporated Grau Abogados, while DLA Piper and Peruvian firm Pizarro Botto & Escobar Abogados established a cooperation agreement.
