Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has hired regulatory partner David Blass in Washington DC.
Blass joins the firm's investment funds practice after serving as chief legal officer for registered fund trade association the Investment Company Institute (ICI).
Before ICI, he spent four years as chief counsel for the Division of Trading & Markets at the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC).
