Winston & Strawn hires KWM's EMEA finance head

Winston & Strawn has become the latest firm to take advantage following the administration of King & Wood Mallesons' (KWM) European arm.

The firm has hired Ian Borman KWM's former head of European finance and global coordinator of the firm's acquisition finance practice in London.

Borman acts on debt, structured and real estate finance matters and restructuring acting for banks, sponsors and borrowers.

Recent work includes advising Lion Capital on the financing for the acquisitions of Picard Surgelés, All Saints, ghd, and Alain Affleleu; the AA on its £1 billion structured refinancing; and Hiscox on a $825 million letter of credit and working capital financing.

Before joining legacy SJ Berwin in 2009, Borman had worked at Allen & Overy.
