The Paris office of Goodwin Procter has hired two partners to strengthen its private equity and funds offering.

Arnaud David, a funds specialist and IFLR1000 Leading Lawyer, makes the switch from the ailing office of King & Wood Mallesons (KWM), in France, where as partner he held the position of co-head of investment funds.

David brings a team of four with him from KWM, senior lawyers Sarah Michel and Pierre-Charles Kaladji and junior lawyers Thibault Dupont and Xavier Couderc-Frani.

Also joining is Marie-Laure Bruneel who moves from French outfit De Pardieu Brocas Maffei, where she was a senior associate. Bruneel is experienced in corporate taxation, M&A private equity and restructuring.

These moves follow a series of lateral hires within the private equity team of the firm's London office. Mark Soundy and Sarah Priestley both joined the team from Shearman & Sterling in early December, and a team of partners including Michael Halford, Ed Hall, Laura Charkin, Shawn D’Aguiar, Patrick Deasy, Ajay Pathak, as well as a 15 associates and five trainees, also joined from KWM earlier this month.
