International firm Ashurst has announced it will end operations in Sweden, with its entire team of 30 lawyers moving to local firm Hamilton.

The team includes managing partner Jon Ericson, partners Pontus Bergsten, Eric Halvarsson and Mats Johnsson, 21 other lawyers and five support staff will join the firm on July 1. Charles Andersson and Fredrik Hag will be made up to partner on joining Hamilton.

London-headquarted international firm Ashurst first entered the Swedish market in 2007 and had established a presence as one of only a handful of multinationals with on-the-ground operations in a Nordic nation. The firm has said it will maintain a referral relationship with Hamilton on a non-exclusive basis.
