DLA Piper brings in new trade counsel from US Customs and Border Protection

US firm expands its regulatory practice

DLA Piper has acquired a new senior counsel for its regulatory and government affairs and international trade practices in Washington DC.

Sandra Bell arrives from US Customs and Border Protection, where she was deputy assistant commisioner. 

Before serving as deputy assistant commisioner, Bell was the executive director of Regulations and Rulings at US Customs annd Border Protection from 2006 to 2014. In her time at the CBP, Bell worked across many areas, including regulations and rulings, regulatory audits, trade policy and programs, and commerical targeting and enforcement. Her move comes in the wake of significant new US legislation regulating trade law.
