Squire Patton Boggs, which hired Bart Page as a partner in its real estate practice in Phoenix in December, has continued its expansion in Arizona with another lateral hire.
Bradley Wright, who has held in-house roles at Apollo Group and SunCor Development Company, joins the firm’s real estate practice in Phoenix as of counsel. Wright advises clients on the financing and development of real estate projects, particularly mixed-use commercial developments and public-private-partnerships.
In a discussion with IFLR1000, Wright praised the efforts of Arizona governor Doug Ducey to drive economic development and attract companies to Arizona. Wright noted that real estate lawyers in the state have been working with the Arizona Commerce Authority on initiatives to attract still higher levels of business.
“We host mega events here in Arizona, we just had the college football championship game and the Super Bowl. The Governor and the Commerce Authority use mega events as a platform to showcase the reasons why Arizona is a fantastic place to live, work and vacation. We support supporting those efforts and believe they will continue to bring results for the valley and for the state,” Wright said.
Much of the deal flow into Arizona crosses international borders, Wright noted.
“We’re still seeing the Canadian dollar coming here. Given Phoenix’s international airport, our business climate, and weather, I’m sure we’ll continue to be an attractive place for foreign investment, particularly as the Phoenix real estate market continues to rebound in step with a construction boom,” he said.
Wright holds a J.D. from Washington University School of Law and a B.S. from Illinois State University.
