As the city of Charlotte continues to gain recognition as a hub for sophisticated corporate transactional work, the latest law firm to add bench strength there is King & Spalding.
Jason Huff, who previously practiced law at Moore & Van Allen, joins King & Spalding as a partner in the firm's finance practice in Charlotte. Huff advises lenders and lessors in equipment financings, and business aircraft financings in particular. Other focal points of his practice include rail equipment, construction gear, trucks, trailers, containers, and medical equipment.
In a discussion with IFLR1000, Huff assessed the increasing globalization of the business aircraft financing market and its ramifications for his practice.
“While the majority of business aircraft are registered in the U.S., as the world’s economy and the global markets become smaller, there are more opportunities to finance foreign registered aircraft. King & Spalding will afford me the international footprint and expertise to pursue these opportunities,” he said.
“The needs of my clients are evolving as they have grown in size and the economy has become more global. I need to be able to meet these changing demands efficiently by providing the expertise and legal staffing required. My transactions often involve many different areas of practice: corporate, litigation, restructuring, tax, etc.,” he added.
Huff holds a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and a B.A. from The College of William and Mary.
