Baker & McKenzie adds projects partner in Singapore

New hire takes over as principal of US firm’s finance and projects practice group

Baker & McKenzie Wong & Leow has hired an energy expert to lead its projects practice in Singapore.

Martin David joins the firm from Ince & Co in Singapore where he worked for two years as its energy head advising on onshore power and clean energy projects across Asia.

Andy Leck, Baker & McKenzie Wong & Leow’s managing principal, said: “Our Firm has been present in Singapore for more than 30 years, and we are constantly enhancing our offering to support our clients' growing legal needs as the business environment becomes more and more complex. Martin's arrival reflects our strategy to do that.”

Once a managing partner at DLA Piper Singapore, David’s experience covers projects, project finance, energy M&A, general finance, and international construction. He has advised on transactions across Asia-Pacific for over 20 years, including in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Mongolia.

David will become principal of the US firm’s finance and projects practice group in the city-state. Baker & McKenzie Wong & Leow is the member firm of Baker & McKenzie International in Singapore.
