Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson has further expanded its UK team with the addition of a new regulatory partner.

Gregg Beechey joins the London office from King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) where he had practised since 2000. He advises on a variety of financial regulatory matters including general compliance, anti money laundering work and consumer credit matters though his main focus is advising fund managers on formation, marketing and regulatory issues.

The hire sees the firm add another supporting pillar to its funds practice in London following the hire in May of a private funds team from Kirkland & Ellis (May 27). This was preceeded by the additions of fellow former Kirkland partner Graham White and Daniel Oates from O'Melveny & Myers.

On the other side, Beechey's departure will be a concern to KWM following similar defections in the past 12 months including those of private equity partners Richard Lever, Simon Fulbrook (both of whom joined Goodwin Procter) and Tim Wright (DLA Piper) and corporate partner Steven Davis who departed for Proskauer Rose.
