Holland & Knight’s Dallas office has gained a team of five real estate finance attorneys from rival K&L Gates.

Partners Jonetta Brooks and Eugene Segrest, along with senior counsels Jennifer Duplissey and Michelle Allen and associate Mark Vandermeulen, bring to 36 the number of lawyers in the Dallas office devoting their efforts to such transactional areas as real estate, corporate and commercial finance, M&A, energy, and restructuring. The lawyers' move represents perhaps the biggest coup for Holland & Knight since the firm's Mexico office gained a team of corporate finance attorneys from DLA Piper in February 2014.

“Jonetta and Gene have a sophisticated practice that encompasses not only traditional real estate, but also financial institutions and opportunistic funds,” commented Joe Guay, the firm’s real estate practice head.

Holland & Knight launched its Dallas operation in July 2013, with 24 lawyers. In July 2014, the firm gained lawyers in Austin as well as Washington when 11 attorneys left the Washington-based firm of Brickfield Burchette Ritts & Stone.
