Mayer Brown has expanded three practice areas in the past week through partner-level hires in Chicago, Washington, and Houston.
Frederick Fisher has joined Mayer Brown’s banking and finance practice as a partner from Greenberg Traurig. Chicago-based Fisher represents banks and corporations in leveraged buyouts, capital financings, dividend recaps, asset-based financings, add-on acquisitions, multicurrency financings, DIP financings, and other transactions. He also specializes in out-of-court workouts and restructurings.
In Washington, Mayer Brown has added Rajesh De, former general counsel at the National Security Agency (NSA) and former White House staff secretary and deputy assistant to the president, as a partner in its global privacy and security practice. De practiced law at Mayer Brown prior to his service in the federal government. His areas of specialization include cybersecurity, data protection, and privacy matters.
The firm also broadened its oil and gas transactional capability with the recruitment of Francisco Mendez, ExxonMobil’s former in-house counsel for Latin America, as a partner based in Houston. Mendez, whose in-house experience encompasses upstream and downstream projects as well as the negotiation of oil and gas contracts, will advise companies seeking to take advantage of constitutional reforms encouraging investment in Mexico’s energy sector.
