Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF) has agreed formal strategic alliances with Shonubi Musoke & Co in Uganda and Gill Godlonton & Gerrans (GGG) in Zimbabwe.
In a press release the firm said it would collaborate with the Uganda and Zimbabwe outfits on selected client matters in order “to provide seamless legal support to clients, particularly in the areas of energy and infrastructure”. NRF already has a long and established relationship with the two firms, having worked closely with both for over 15 years.
Most recently an NRF team has been working with GGG in Zimbabwe to advise the state-owned Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) on matters relating to an electricity generation expansion programme. NRF and Shonubi Musoke & Co are also currently working together to advise lenders on a substantial asset acquisition financing in Uganda.
The alliances officially expand NRF’s reach across the African continent. The firm is one of the biggest in South Africa and has offices in Morocco and Tanzania since 2011 and 2012, respectively. Its new alliance partner Shonubi Musoke & Co also has an affiliate in Burundi: Shonubi Musoke Gilbert & Partners.
