Ventura Garcés & López-Ibor Abogados has integrated Madrid-based Barón Abogados and bolstered its corporate and tax practices. Notably, the addition will see Barón founder and former Garrigues corporate partner Alfonso Barón join as a partner. Accompanying him will be tax specialist Nuño Alarcón, who prevsiously practiced at KPMG. The additions bring the firm's Madrid team to 17. The firm also has an office of 14 lawyers in Barcelona.
According to Alfonso López-Ibor, the integration of Barón Abogados "will contribute to the further development of our business in priority areas such as corporate law, which will grow as the country comes out of recession, and at the same time strengthen the firm’s tax department, an area that is becoming increasingly important".
