Middle East law firm Al Tamimi & Company has announced that as of April 2015 it will have an operational association with Egyptian independent Nour & Taha. The association is more substantial than many as it will see Nour & Taha become Khodeir Nour & Taha (in association with Al Tamimi & Company). The name change reflects the relocation of Al Tamimi partner Mohamed Khodeir to Cairo, where he will offer legal consultancy services.

The formal link between an Egyptian firm and Middle Eastern firm is a relfection of the stream of Gulf investments that have been flowing into Egypt over the past couple of years, particularly from private equity and sovereign wealth funds. In a press release Al Tamimi said the association would help develop projects undertaken in the 'New Egypt', highlighting in particular opportunities in infrastructure, Public Private Partnerships, finance, capital markets and M&A.

Nour & Taha has a well established presence in particular for capital markets and M&A work and in September 2014 named partner Ayman Nour was appointed by the prime minister as as expert director of the Board of the Egyptian Exchange. Khodeir is currently head of Al Tamimi's Qatar office and a specialist in corporate commercial, particularly the equity capital markets and M&A transactions. He is an IFLR1000 Leading Lawyer.
