Mid-market law firm Dinsmore & Shohl has broadened its capacity to represent energy sector clients by luring a corporate attorney to its office in Lexington, Kentucky.
Robert McIntyre joins Dinsmore as of counsel. McIntyre handles corporate transactions in the energy and natural resources sectors. At his new firm, he will put to use transactional experience developed over his tenure as vice president and general counsel of Transco Exploration, and as co-founder and managing partner of a law firm, Breeding McIntyre and Cunningham.
McIntyre’s hiring comes hot on the heels of a lateral hire elsewhere in Kentucky. In November 2014, the firm added Michelle Browning Coughlin as a corporate lawyer based in Louisville. Coughlin is a former vice president, senior trust advisor, at PNC Bank Wealth Management Group. Moreover, McIntyre’s recruitment is part of a broad regional strategy. In November 2014, Dinsmore appointed Anna Dailey as managing partner of the firm’s West Virginia office. The firm’s announcement noted that part of Dailey’s vision involves expanding the firm’s presence in the energy sector in states such as Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Colorado.
McIntyre holds a J.D. from the University of Houston, Bates College of Law, and a B.S. from the University of Oklahoma.
