Paul Hastings snatches three in Asia

Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker has appointed three partners in its Asian offices, highlighting the region's increased importance for the firm.

Joseph Kim, from Latham & Watkins and David Vance, from Baker & McKenzie have joined the firm's Tokyo office. Patricia Tan Openshaw has joined the Hong Kong office from Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom.

Openshaw will focus on corporate and project transactions involving energy and infrastructure assets and in financings involving commercial banks, export credit agencies and private equity funds.

Kim specializes in leverage finance, as well as project development and project finance, while Vance will concentrate on infrastructure project finance and the power, petrochemicals, oil and gas and telecommunications industries. He also has experience in cross-border acquisition finance.
