Profile: Yibing Mao, APAC chief legal counsel, Marriott International

Having spent more than 23 years at Marriott, Yibing Mao has gained a wide variety of experiences, both in the law department and beyond, that has allowed her to get a 360-degree view of the issues that the hotel chain faces and how the law department can bring solutions for these problems. Based in Hong Kong SAR, Mao oversees a legal team of 50 in seven offices across Asia which takes care of the hotel’s portfolio of more than 730 hotels in the region. From regulatory and compliance work to transaction negotiations, there’s never a boring day for Mao and this has been a driving force behind the passion she brings to her work.
