Although it remains a contentious issue state by state,
interest in the European cannabis market is growing.
According to Andy Morrison, chairperson of Spinnaker
Management, a cash shell company focused on the cannabis
processing industry, "the direction of travel is set, and the
question that remains is how rapidly – and in what
direction – the different segments will move".
The growth of the burgeoning industry can be seen in
recent cross-border deals. For instance,
Canada’s Canopy Growth Corporation, which
undertook a €225.9 million acquisition of German-owned
firm Cannabinoid Compound Company (C3).
