Revealed: Hong Kong exchange to expedite IPOs

  • Speaking at IFLR’s Asia Capital Markets Forum, Hong Kong Exchange Group's chief regulatory officer and head of listing detailed recent changes in the exchange's listing division in response to the city's new sponsor regime;
  • The listing division has hired two senior staff, a lawyer and an equity research analyst, to work under the head of the IPO transactions team;
  • Applications will now be initially reviewed by a high-level review team and a detailed commenting team;
  • The listing division is committed to speeding up the vetting process, but only if draft prospectuses are nearly complete – 95% of the way there.
