Jeremy Sandelson was voted managing partner of Clifford Chance's London office, with effect from January 1 2006. Sandelson, head of the firm's litigation and dispute resolution practice, takes over from Peter Charlton, who is to become global head of the firm's corporate practice. The role of London managing partner incorporates that of managing partner of the Dubai office.

Clifford Chance also appointed Tomás Richter as of counsel in its Prague office. Richter focuses on commercial law and corporate finance. Richter is a lecturer at the Institute of Economic Studies at Charles University and an arbitrator with the Arbitration Court of the Economic and Agrarian Chambers of the Czech Republic.

Zbigniew Mrowiec rejoined Dewey Ballantine as a partner in the firm's Warsaw office. Mrowiec left the firm in 2004 to become deputy chairman of the Polish Securities and Exchange Commission, where he worked on new regulations governing the Polish capital markets.
