Rafael Marquínez has been an associate at Alemán, Cordero, Galindo & Lee since 2009. His practice areas include banking, finance, capital markets, corporate and M&A, real estate, and tax law. Mr. Marquínez has helped advise in complex local and cross border financial and securities related transactions, as well as a multiplicity of local securities related regulatory matters and corporate and commercial matters in the real estate sector, including project development.
Mr. Marquínez has been endorsed as a “Rising Star” for Panama in IFLR1000 (2018) and ranked in “Associates to Watch” in capital markets and real estate by Chambers and Partners (2017-2018).
- Advised Grupo Mundial Tenedora, S.A. and Banco Panameño de la Vivienda, S.A. (Banvivienda) in the exchange process of up to 34,000,000 non-accumulative preferred shares without voting rights of Banco Panameño de la Vivienda, S.A. (Banvivienda) for non-accumulative preferred shares without voting rights of Grupo Mundial Tenedora, S.A.;
- Advised Aeropuerto Internacional de Tocumen, S.A., as issuer, in connection with the structuring and registration of an amendment to the terms and conditions of a US$650 million corporate bonds issuance due in 2023 and with the structuring and registration of a US$625 million corporate bonds issuance, as well as their public offering;
- Advised JP Morgan Securities LLC and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated in connection with a US$550 million 144a/Reg S offering of Banco General S.A.
