Nebojša Marić is the Managing Partner of Marić & Co Law Firm in Sarajevo. He has more than 15 years of experience advising banks, international financial institutions, multinational corporations and leading domestic groups on complex transactions, financings and regulatory matters in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His practice is focused on banking and finance, including acquisition finance, syndicated lending and structured financing arrangements, as well as M&A transactions.

He regularly leads mandates involving project development in the energy, mining and infrastructure sectors, including concession frameworks, regulatory approvals and multi-stakeholder negotiations. A substantial part of his work has a cross-border dimension and requires coordination with international law firms and multilateral institutions.

Nebojša Marić has been involved in several of the most significant recent transactions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in the telecommunications, energy and financing sectors. He is recognised by leading international legal directories for his expertise in general business law and finance.

  • Advised United Group on local law financing and regulatory aspects relating to its telecommunications operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including review of financing structure, security considerations and sector-specific approvals.
  • Represented Dundee Precious Metals / Adriatic Metals in relation to concession agreements and regulatory matters concerning the Vareš mining project, including analysis of concession fees, land rights, infrastructure access and interaction with cantonal authorities.
  • Advised the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on local law aspects of financing transactions extended to financial institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including review of loan documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Represented a syndicate of domestic banks in secured financing transactions granted to industrial companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including preparation and perfection of security documentation under local law.
  • Represented foreign-owned banks in proceedings initiated by the Indirect Taxation Authority concerning additional tax assessments, including legal analysis of regulatory exposure and treaty-based protection.
