Daniel is a partner in the corporate commercial and real estate department of HH&M. He has 22 years’ post qualification experience undertaking corporate and commercial work in the areas of capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, regulatory and compliance advisory work, energy, telecommunications, intellectual property, oil & gas, infrastructure and public private partnerships.
- Advised to Africa Logistics Properties Limited on an initial capital raising and on the Kenyan competition law aspects relating to the said capital raise of more than US$ 60 million from key investors such as CDC Group, IFC and Mbuyu Capital;
- Advising on a World-Bank-funded institutional review of all petroleum and non-petroleum institutions involved in the oil & gas sector in Kenya. The review is aimed at ensuring the country’s readiness for oil prospection to commercial soon;
- Advised General Motors on all aspects relating to its sale of its 57.3% stake in General Motors East Africa Limited (“GMEA”) to Isuzu Motors Limited;
- Acting as local counsel, advised Vodacom Group Limited (“Vodacom”) on Kenyan law issues relating to its acquisition of 87.5% of the issued shares in Vodafone Kenya Ltd (“VKL”) from Vodafone International Holdings B.V. resulting in Vodacom holding a significant stake in Safaricom, the giant mobile telecommunications company in Kenya.
