Bhavna Ramsurun

Bhavna Ramsurun is involved in diverse aspects of financial regulatory matters with a special focus on capital markets regulation, investment funds and securities law.

Bhavna regularly advises domestic and international players on their fund raising on both the local and international market. She has also represented investors on acquisition of shares and takeover of public companies. She is also well-honed in securities law and capital matters.

Bhavna also advises on fund formation, the establishment of financial services providers and institutions and regulatory compliance.

• Advised AfricInvest on the setting up of Cathay AfricInvest Innovation Fund LLC, a fund targeting investments in startups or ventures that leverage technology and innovative models to respond to socio-economic challenges.
• Assisting Lion’s Head Global Partners in the set-up of two funds established under the laws of Mauritius structured to execute primarily debt investments in local and hard currencies, in some instances in partnership with local financial institutions and/or other investors.
• Advised Adiwale Partners on the setting up of Adiwale Fund I LP which focuses on investments across a broad spectrum of businesses in the Consumer, Business Services and Manufacturing sectors in Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso as well as Togo, Benin and Guinea.
• Acted for Happy World Property on becoming a public company and its introduction on the Development & Enterprise Market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius.
• Assisted Pan-European Logistics Property Holdings Limited, a company investing in real estate opportunities, in connection with the structuring and conduct of a private capital raising and listing on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
