Anthony Gakuru

Anthony is a senior associate in the Corporate/Commercial department. He advises clients on a wide range of corporate/commercial matters ranging from conducting legal due diligences and forensics; advising and preparing documentation for mergers, joint ventures and acquisitions; capital markets, telecommunications and advising and assisting clients with business establishment in Kenya.

• Advising KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in the USD 2.2 billion debt and equity restructuring of the NSE listed Kenya national carrier, Kenya Airways Plc.
• Local counsel to Unilever Plc in the USD 8.1 billion sale of its margarine and spreads business (including Blue band, Flora, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, Country Crock ) to U.S. private equity firm KKR & Co.
• Local counsel to HP Inc. in the USD 1.05 billion acquisition of Samsung’s printer business.
• Acting for NSE listed Safaricom Plc in a joint venture collaboration with Hikma Electronics Plc of Ethiopia to roll out airtime credit services in Ethiopia.
