Highlights 

In the mining sector, the firm advised Rio Tinto on a distinguished acquisition of La Granja mining project by First Quantum Minerals. This complex transaction required the collaboration of several institutions within the Peruvian government including ProInversion, Activos Mineros, and the Ministry of Energy and Mines. It also required the collaboration of the firm’s mining and M&A practitioners. 

In capital markets, the Republic of Peru was provided with issuer counsel in relation to the exchange of sovereign issuances. This was an award-winning deal, in part due to its historical significance as a pioneer of green issuances in Peru. It sets a precedent for the country’s Sustainable Bond Framework.
