Mr. GAO Jun (Gary GAO) is an Equity Partner and the Head of the Compliance & Regulatory Department of Zhong Lun Law Firm. He is an experienced litigator and arbitrator with more than 30 years of experience handling complex cross-border arbitration, litigation, and sophisticated commercial disputes.
Gary has extensive experience in multi-jurisdictional dispute resolution strategy, conflict of laws issues, cross-border evidence collection and presentation, and disputes involving finance and trusts, corporate equity, private equity investments, procurement contracts, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, international trade, and insurance claims. He also frequently acts as an expert witness on Chinese law in foreign litigation and arbitration proceedings, advising clients and international legal teams on Chinese substantive and procedural law.
In addition, Gary serves as Co-Chair of the ESG Committee of the World Law Group (Asia-Pacific region), a member of the ICC Arbitration and ADR Committee, Deputy Editor of IBA Dispute Resolution International, and an arbitrator with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), and various other domestic and international institutions.
- Successfully led and completed a comprehensive compliance supervision project for a large state-owned enterprise, leveraging extensive compliance expertise and professional experience.
- Assisted a globally renowned toy manufacturing company in handling internal compliance issues arising from allegations of corruption and conflicts of interest involving senior executives.
- Assisted Jin Jiang International and Jin Jiang Hotels in strengthening compliance management systems and consolidating risk prevention and control frameworks.
- Advised a subsidiary of Western Digital Corporation in litigation involving a disputed amount exceeding CNY 50 million.
