Work highlights

Successfully represented Securities Commission Malaysia in a landmark Federal Court case concerning insider trading. The final appeal, concluded in April 2025, established groundbreaking precedents including eliminating the need to prove intention to use inside information in trading cases. The ruling also confirmed the Securities Commission's authority to pursue civil actions without the Attorney General's consent and clarified the court's scope in evaluating information materiality. The widely reported decision sets new parameters for future insider trading litigation in Malaysia.
