Guan Gang Invited to Speak at the Beijing Design Week 2016 Forum

September 25, the Beijing Design Week, an annual national key cultural event hosted by the Ministry of Culture and the Beijing Municipal Government, officially opened in China Millennium Monument. As a new highlight of the Beijing Design Week 2016, Design Market, with the theme of “Smart City, Safe Life and Innovation of the Future”, was held successfully in form of “experience” exhibition and series of forums. Many of the guests, including academics of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the former Director of the National Bureau of Statistics Secretary, researchers of the First Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security and Vice President of the China People's Pension Planning Institute delivered speeches.

East & Concord Partners was the sole law firm invited to speak and participate in this year’s theme forum Beijing Design Week. Mr. Guan, a partner of East & Concord Partners, delivered a speech entitled “Legal Protection of Innovative in the Age of Intelligence”, which was unanimously commended by all of the forum participants.

Based on his seasoned experience in intellectual property, Mr. Guan spoke about innovative designs of intelligent era, and presented a clear introduction about intellectual property protection and issues related to intelligent life, such as the patent in technical standards and intellectual property protection for product design.

After the keynote speech, the attorneys from East & Concord Partners’ Intellectual Property Department visited the three exhibition areas, "Intelligent Security", "Intelligent Health" and "Intelligent Life", and explored intellectual property rights and issues related to design works.
