Louisa Gibbs, Special Counsel with law firm GENI & KEBE, has been invited to be a panelist at the Mali International Mining Conference and Exhibition, JMP. This is the 6th biannual Conference, which is a leading regional event organised the Ministry of Mines, Republic of Mali in association with AME Trade Ltd. Ms Gibbs is an Australian lawyer living in Senegal who advises foreign investors in the natural resources sector.
Ms Gibbs will join the Honorable Prime Minister of Mali, the Minister of Mines and representatives from mining enterprises around the region. Ms. Gibbs will speak on the topic of opportunities for investment to increase the value of mining for Mali, with a particular focus on the way that stabilization clauses work in mining contracts.
“There is increasing recognition of the importance of Mining in Mali’s economy,” notes Ms. Gibbs “and this year’s JMP conference will offer the chance to discuss how gains can be made. With the Prime Minister and Minister of Mines of Mali present, it will be a high level forum for exploring new ideas and forging partnerships.”
