Donald H Y Koo, Senior Partner of Koo and Partners, Notary Public, ACIArb, China Appointed Attesting Officer, and a founding partner of the firm, has, during his many years of practice as a solicitor, represented a variety of banks and other institutional clients. His experience spans the areas of banking and finance, insolvency law, commercial law, property and conveyancing and commercial litigation. As senior partner, he takes an active interest in all of the firm's business developments in Hong Kong and abroad. Under his leadership, the firm has expanded sevenfold in nearly eight years covering extensive practice areas. Featured in Chambers' Global Directory of the World's Leading Lawyers, Mr Koo is a graduate of the University of Hong Kong and was admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong SAR in 1982 and as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1987, and as an advocate in Singapore. Working closely as a team with Raymond Li on China-related matters, Mohan Datwani on restructurings/insolvency and shipping matters, Vivien Fan on syndicated lending and project financing matters, Edwin Lau on general banking and compliance matters, Freeman Chan on corporate finance and commercial matters, Anthony Chan on project, telecommunications and aviation matters, Monica Cheung on real estate matters, Mary Thomson on litigation and arbitration cases, and Michael Downey on labour law matters, and with other partners, consultants and senior lawyers within the firm, Mr Koo continues to take an active role in a whole range of matters, from corporate finance matters to infrastructure financing transactions, and from joint venture transactions to property transactions in mainland China, Hong Kong and elsewhere.


Timothy A Manring

B & M Consultants

Timothy Manring is the President Director of PT Buananusantara Manunggal (B & M Consultants), an Indonesian business consulting firm affiliated with Baker & McKenzie and with Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners. He was admitted to practice in the State of Washington in 1967, and has spent a significant portion of his professional career, particularly since 1981 working in Indonesia. Although his work in Indonesia has included a range of general and corporate matters, banking and finance and taxation, Tim's principal focus has been in the areas of taxation and corporate finance, in which he has represented either foreign funds providing private equity finance to Indonesian companies, or the Indonesian companies securing such financing, and debt and corporate restructuring.

Daniel Ginting

Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners

Daniel Ginting is an associate in the Banking, Finance and Projects Practice Group. Daniel has participated in project finance (power projects, chemical plants, cement plants, telecommunications, toll roads, gold loans and hotel/property construction), acquisitions of finance companies and banks, mergers of banks, trade finance and debt restructuring. His primary responsibilities include drafting term sheets, loan agreements, security documents and other transaction documents, assisting clients in negotiating project proposals with government officials, conducting due diligence and advising clients generally on Indonesian legal matters. Daniel has also spent a seven-month period working with the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Jakarta Branch assisting in the bank's Credit Recovery Unit. Daniel graduated from the University of Indonesia Law School in 1994, and obtained an LLM degree at the University of Chicago Law School, Illinois, US, in 2000.
