Nidhi Parekh, is senior vice president, IB legal at Citigroup She has eight years of experience in securities markets. She completed her graduation in Business Administration and Law with honors in Corporate Law from National Law University, Jodhpur. She started her career as a capital markets lawyer at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (erstwhile Amarchand Mangaldas Suresh A. Shroff & Co.) in 2007 and recently moved from the firm after performing the role of Partner Designate. She has worked on various pioneering transactions including the first and only issuance of Indian Depository Receipts and landmark deals including one of the largest stock exchange sale by the co-founders of a conglomerate in IT space. She has also actively participated in reviewing various regulatory policies. She was also one of the panelist at the IFLR – Capital Markets Forum 2015 in Mumbai.

K Selvaraj joined IDFC in December 2006 and has over 20 years’ experience as an in- house counsel in commercial banks and non-banking finance companies. 

Currently he is heading the legal team for Corporate  Commercial and Wholesale Banking Divisions of IDFC Bank Limited.  Selvaraj has considerable experience in handling legal assignments  for debt financing and equity investment  across major infrastructure sectors, structure financing, ECB funding, transaction banking matters such as bank guarantees, letter of credit,  treasury matters including ISDA documentation,  debt restructuring, resolution of non-performing assets  etc.  Before joining IDFC, he had worked with ING Vysya, and Canara Bank as an in-house legal counsel.  Before joining  Canara Bank, he had also practised as a litigation lawyer in the officer of the Govt. Pleader–cum-Public Prosecutor.  He received his bachelor’s degree in Law and Economics from Bharthiar University. He also holds a Diploma in IPR from National Law School, Bangalore and Executive General Management Programme from IIM Bangalore.

Stephen Peepels heads Hogan Lovells’ US Securities practice in Asia-Pacific, and is based in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Widely recognized as one of the region's most experienced corporate finance attorneys, he advises on a variety of cross border transactions, including international securities offerings and pre-IPO financings, as well as going private transactions. With a focus across Asia-Pacific, he has assisted companies and financial advisors in Australia, India, Southeast Asia and Greater China as they seek to raise capital. He led the first Rule 144A high yield debt offering from India, and has also advised on several multi-billion dollar IPOs on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. In the private M&A space, he helped Larsen & Toubro to buy a significant division from Dell Computer.  He also regularly represents companies in developing and implementing corporate governance and compliance programs.

He began his legal career at the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance, where he was responsible for identifying issues in public companies’ Securities Act and Exchange Act registration statements and other SEC filings.  After the SEC, he began private practice as a securities attorney in New York. He also worked in London, San Francisco and Singapore before relocating to Hong Kong. In addition to his focus on Hong Kong IPOs, he has worked on more than 20 convertible bond offerings, and equity offerings on the NYSE, Nasdaq and various Asian stock exchanges. He is also a recognized market leader in India, having advised on India's largest ever IPO, the US$3.4 billion offering by Coal India Limited, among his more than 30 Indian equity offerings.

He has extensive experience in equity capital markets, and has advised borrowers and lenders in structured finance transactions and debt issuances. He has also been actively involved with Infrastructure Investment Trust and Real Estate Investment Trust listings. Bhakta has advised issuers and major investment banks on a broad range of domestic and international transactions, including offerings and private placements of convertible and exchangeable bonds, equity securities including ordinary shares and units of real estate investment trusts and business trusts, leveraged notes and equity upside notes and block trades in India, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. He has also been involved in restructuring of debt and equity linked instruments.
He  is recognised as a “Leading Lawyer” for Capital Markets in India by several publications including Chambers Global, Chambers Asia Pacific and Asia Law.
