financial sector, with meteorological chaos ensuing in
seemingly every possible orifice of the continent. Whether it

Governments have been less than stable. First it was Italy.
With a strong turnout in the European Parliament elections and
sky-high polling, Matteo Salvini of the Northern League party
seemed desperate for an election, which could have seen the
far-right party increase its majority and potentially lead the
government. This backfired as Italy's centre-left Democratic
Party and governing party, the Five Star Movement, managed to
make an agreement to share power.
