The past two months have been dominated by European parliamentary elections

Once again Europeans' spring was largely dictated by politics, though at least this time around it was the entire EU Parliament at stake, rather than just the UK again. And with yet another UK leadership election on the horizon – and Brexit far from over – the rollercoaster journey the pound sterling has been on since June 2016 has still got a way to go.

With the European elections delivering much of the same, despite a few surprising results in France and a big win for Greens – who don't tend to be especially interested in financial regulation – across the continent, there may not be a great deal to report on the EU...
