Sam Ramer most recently served as senior associate counsel
to the President at the White House and has held top positions
in the executive and legislative branches of the US Government,
including the Department of Justice (DoJ).
This year, he left the administration to join Norton Rose
Fulbright to work in the global regulations,
investigations, securities, compliance and white collar crime
practices. Ramer sat down with Americas editor John Crabb to
discuss the switch and his time at the White House.
Let’s start by talking about why you
have made this switch, what attracted you to private
practice? When you work in high-level government
offices, at some point you have to come to terms with the fact
that the clock is ticking, and that soon your time will be up.
