Wild goose chase

The unlikeliest of diplomatic scraps has been fermenting in the last two months, between bitter foes China… and Canada. First came the arrest in Canada of Meng Wanzhou, chief financial officer of Chinese telecoms firm Huawei, who was accused of breaking Iranian sanctions. Then Canadian criminal Robert Lloyd Schellenberg, imprisoned in China, swiftly had his sentence changed from 15 years in prison to the death penalty.
