Forty-eight hours after Britain finally devised some sort of framework for its negotiation with the European Union, Brexit secretary David Davies resigned and was replaced by housing minister Dominic Raab, foreign secretary Boris Johnson resigned.

While the plans were agreed with cabinet members two days earlier, the resignations of Davis, Johnson and MP Steve Baker have cast a shadow on Theresa May's role as prime minister and, more importantly, on the viability of her Brexit plans. Long-time Brexit dreamer Jacob Rees-Mogg has been touted as a possible replacement, which would likely see Britain cut all ties with the European Union.
