Tim Jones, managing partner of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's London corporate department and joint-head of its securities practice, specializes in equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, and other corporate work. What is the most surprising aspect of the CCP results?

I thought the almost even split in response to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act was interesting, and probably puts in perspective the usual presumption that it is a bad thing. This view is clearly not shared by a large number of corporate counsel, who think it has given them support for improved internal processes. You can see why counsel might well welcome the thrust of Sarbanes-Oxley, even if some of the detail of its implementation has been difficult.
