Asia Pacific: market tactics

China and the US have entered into a 90-day truce in the trade war as the two countries negotiate a trade deal. US trade representative Robert Lighthizer has been selected as the lead negotiator on the US side. He led the section 301 report that outlined allegations of Chinese intellectual property theft and forced technology transfer.

To further open up access of the Chinese bond market to foreign investors, China is adding Bloomberg as a second trade connectivity service after Tradeweb. Bloomberg’s partnership with the China Foreign Exchange Trade System will provide investors in China and overseas to trade in each other’s bond markets through the Bond Connect.
