 What features will grow in popularity in 2017 to offset the challenges facing global M&A?

In defiance of the extreme levels of political uncertainty seen throughout, it can't be denied that 2016 was a big year for M&A. A surge in deals at the year-end brought the closing total to $3.6 trillion, making last year (almost) the best year on record since the financial crisis. And for British companies in particular, buoyed by a weak pound, the merger mania has so far continued well into 2017, with a range of fresh takeovers already in the works.
