May represented the second month of Dewey & LeBoeuf's internal collapse. The news of the firm's implosion has been hard to avoid, with waves of partners and associates departing daily. As the month progressed the firm's fate seemed sealed, Dewey's New York HQ closed its doors on May 14 and shortly after brought in restructuring firm Zolfo Cooper to advise it on its options. At the time of going to press it is believed that the firm could file for bankruptcy before the month's close.
