Mayer Brown is to merge with Asian firm Johnson Stokes & Master (JSM) on January 28.
The Asian offices of the merged firm will be managed by an Asia board that chair of JSM's partnership board Elaine Lo will take over. Mayer Brown chairman Jim Holzhauer will chair the global firm's central policy and planning committee.
The combined firm will have more than 1000 lawyers in the United States, 500 in Europe and 300 in Asia.
The merged entity will continue to be known as Mayer Brown outside of Asia, but in Asia it will be known as Mayer Brown JSM.
