Allen & Overy won IFLR's European Law Firm of the Year award
on the strength of its groundbreaking work across nearly every
sector of the financial markets as well as the outstanding
performance of its network of European offices.
Among the seven awards the firm collected were three Deal of the
Year awards: for representing Alcan on its hostile takeover of
French aluminium group Pechiney in the winning M&A transaction,
for advising the senior bank lenders on the Skynet 5 private
finance initiative project, IFLR's Project Finance Deal of the
Year, and for representing HBOS on its groundbreaking covered bond
deal, which won Securitization Deal of the Year. A&O added
another two trophies in the team awards, winning Restructuring Team
of the Year and Project Finance Team of the Year, while its Dutch
office was named Law Firm of the Year...
